In Appreciation of our Clinicians and other Front-line Staff

A message of gratitude to the people of Kaiser Permanente during this challenging time.

An important message from:

  • Greg A. Adams, Chairman and CEO, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals
  • Edward M. Ellison, MD, Executive Medical Director/Chairman of the Board, Southern California Permanente Medical Group; Chairman of the Board and CEO, The Southeast Permanente Medical Group; Co-CEO, The Permanente Federation
  • Richard S. Isaacs, MD, FACS, CEO and Executive Director, The Permanente Medical Group; President and CEO, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group; Co-CEO, The Permanente Federation

As we enter the sixth month of the global COVID-19 pandemic, we want to take a moment to thank and salute the people of Kaiser Permanente who are passionately caring for our members and patients during this historic public health crisis.

Never before has the mission of Kaiser Permanente been so tested, and we are proud to say that we are able to meet this test because of the dedication, professionalism, and expertise of everyone who provides — directly and indirectly — the high-quality care and service that is at the core of that mission.

We know this time has not been easy. The challenges of the care environment are matched by struggles at home — keeping yourself and your family safe, making sure children get the education and support they need, and helping care for especially vulnerable friends and family.

We want you to know that Kaiser Permanente’s top priority is the safety of our patients and staff. Our evidence-based protocols in clinical facilities, distancing and hygiene guidance, and our efforts to ensure a reliable supply of personal protective equipment have helped minimize the risk of exposure for our staff members. We have increased our personal protective equipment supply by expanding our supplier base and working closely with our health care teams to develop and improve conservation efforts.

We will continue to support your safety and well-being. Please visit Here4You, our employee resource page, for updated information on this and other ways we are supporting the people of Kaiser Permanente. We are grateful to our exceptional teams and labor partners who have provided essential collaboration enabling us to come up with innovative solutions to unprecedented challenges.

When this pandemic is behind us, we will look back and take pride in how well we served our mission and each other. Thank you for everything you are doing to get us to that day. Please continue to take care of yourself and find the time to reflect on the positive difference you are making in the world.
